4.12914 reviewsWe spent the day at Hotel Reef as an excursion on our Carnival Cruise. We really had a good time. The water was great and the kids found love starfish. They are still building the beach back from a hurricane so we walked maybe 15 yards to the right of the resort beach front to get some actual beach, but we didn’t use it, we were in the water for the first half of the time at the resort. We came back up to the lunch area and got tons of food (tacos/quesadillas/etc) which was all very good (learn a little of the language so you can make sure your order is cooked how you’d like) and unlimited dri…
Purchased Excursion with Carnival Cruise. It is beautiful 😍, great customer service, so friendly, no pushy sales ppl. Not over crowded, want to make a trip up here just to visit the resort. Beach has beautiful beach, wildlife, and good food. Can't wait to come back. Party of 8, 4 adults, 4 kids. Suitable for all ages.
The Reef is a secret getaway spot that is great. It’s about an hour and a half drive from the Merida airport, and there is no shuttle service, so you have to rent a car, but if you are a wee bit adventurous you will get to enjoy a hidden treasure in the Yucatán. Super affordable, all inclusive, and the staff are there to please. It helps if you speak some Spanish but the staff speak some English and will work hard to communicate with you.
