Where should I stay in Apodaca?
For a dawn flight or meetings in the northern and eastern industrial parks, the airport zone and Carretera Miguel Alemán hold most of the chain hotels, with parking and early breakfast. If your plant is out towards Huinalá or Pueblo Nuevo, sleeping nearby saves half an hour of morning traffic. The centre of Apodaca is cheaper and has more neighbourhood life, but supply is small and plain.
When are hotels cheapest here?
The opposite of a resort town: Monday to Thursday rates climb because work travellers fill the rooms, and they ease off from Friday to Sunday. Late December, when many plants shut, is the quietest window of the year. How do I get in and around without a car?
Monterrey International Airport is inside the municipality: an authorised taxi to a nearby hotel runs about MX$150-250, into central Monterrey roughly MX$400-500, and Uber or DiDi less from marked pickup points. The metro does not reach Apodaca, and city buses towards the industrial parks are slow and infrequent. Without a car you will live on apps; if you are working here, rent one.
Is there anything to see in Apodaca itself?
Not much, and it is honest to say so: the main plaza, the parish church, the occasional local fair and some very good taquerías. The sights are metro-wide — Parque Fundidora and the Macroplaza some 20-25 kilometres away, Cerro de la Silla in view, Chipinque in San Pedro, and about an hour out the Grutas de García or Santiago with the Cola de Caballo waterfall.
