The rooms are not comfortable. The laundry is ridiculous.dirty and two of three washing machines are broken. The tank filled up but my clothes but did not wash or spin so soaked and still dirty. I do not recommend this hotel at all. Whoever scores this place a 5 needs to get out more. With the possible exception of the front desk, there is nothing about it that is a 5.
I have to say it is very well located, their parking lot is limited but okay. Front desk people is not friendly at all. They have a bar and terraza which is very convenient, happy hour from Monday to Thursday. By the way their breakfast is great...
I have traveled a lot in my time. The staff and overall service is incredible. They have hands down go out of their way every chance they get. I didn't have a fridge in the room. 20 min man delivered a fridge. I needed a sleeping fan. Came back to the room after dinner. Brand new fan in room waiting. Happy hour 2 beer or 2 cokes for free plus miniature snacks. Breakfast is full out. Not an American fake breakfast. Full kitchen to order.

When to go
October and November are the best months: 22 to 28°C by day, little rain, evenings that call for a light jacket. March and April work almost as well, with more wind and dust. They are also peak months for industry and for conventions across the metro area, so hotels fill with work travellers and rates hold firm.
Summer is genuinely hard. From May to September the thermometer clears 38°C often, with Gulf humidity and almost no shade over the asphalt. September is the wettest month, when the remains of tropical storms flood avenues and delay flights. Air conditioning and covered parking stop being details and become booking criteria.
Winter averages kind — 18 to 22°C — but the nortes drop the temperature ten or fifteen degrees in a few hours, with wind and cold drizzle. Late December is the quiet window: plants shut, corporate hotels empty out, and our scans found the softest rates of the year.
Getting there and around
Apodaca's real asset is that Monterrey International Airport sits inside the municipality. Mexico City and Guadalajara are a bit over an hour away, and there are direct links to several US cities. An authorised taxi to a nearby hotel runs roughly MX$150-250; into central Monterrey, on the order of MX$400-500. Uber and DiDi work here and cost less, from marked pickup points.
This is a car city. Carretera Miguel Alemán is the spine towards Guadalupe and Monterrey, while the Libramiento Noreste and the Periférico feed the industrial parks. Expect heavy truck traffic and shift changes between 6 and 8 in the morning and 5 to 7 in the evening, when fifteen kilometres can swallow fifty minutes.
Public transport exists but is not convenient: city buses along the main avenues, tickets on the order of MX$15-20, and thin service towards the factory gates. Monterrey's metro does not reach Apodaca, so getting to the old centre means combining a bus with Metrorrey, or ordering a car. If you are here to work, rent one.
Where to stay, zone by zone
Airport zone and Carretera Miguel Alemán. Most of the supply sits here: chain hotels built for business travel, with parking, breakfast served early, meeting rooms and sometimes a shuttle to the terminal. It is the safe pick for a dawn flight or for meetings in the northern and eastern parks. Street life is not part of the deal.
Industrial corridors, out towards Huinalá and Pueblo Nuevo. You sleep near the plant and save half an hour of morning traffic. The trade-off is that nothing is walkable: check that your hotel has a restaurant or a kitchen open at night, because the surroundings shut early and deliveries take their time.
The centre of Apodaca, around the main plaza and its parish church, has the most character — taquerías, market stalls, local prices. The hotel supply is small and plain, more overnight stop than base for a week, but it does the job on a tight budget if an unfussy room is fine.
If the trip mixes work with sightseeing, consider sleeping on the other side: central Monterrey by the Macroplaza and Barrio Antiguo, or Valle Oriente in San Pedro Garza García, where the restaurants and upper-tier hotels are. Reckon 25 to 45 minutes by car depending on the hour. San Nicolás de los Garza and Guadalupe split the difference.
Eating and going out
Apodaca eats set lunches and tacos, and that is no insult: in the fondas near the industrial parks a comida corrida runs about MX$100-150, and at night trompo tacos and gorditas keep the neighbourhood awake. White tablecloths are scarce; for those you cross into Monterrey or San Pedro.
Regional cooking is worth the detour: cabrito roasted on a spit, machaca with eggs for breakfast, agujas and arrachera over coals, asadero cheese, hand-pressed flour tortillas. A proper plate of grilled beef lands between MX$200 and MX$350, a beer at MX$40-60. On Sundays the whole city smells of charcoal from noon onwards.
Going out means going elsewhere. Apodaca has neighbourhood cantinas and dance halls, little more; the bars and live music are in Barrio Antiguo and around Valle Oriente. If you drink, order a car: breath-test checkpoints are routine and the drive home is long and poorly lit.
Booking well
Pricing here runs opposite to a resort town. Monday to Thursday the hotels fill with work travellers and rates climb; Friday to Sunday they slide. If your meetings fall midweek, book weeks ahead. If you can stretch the stay into the weekend, the extra night usually costs noticeably less than the ones before it.
