Everything from the late check in to the complimentary breakfast and breath taking beach club were beyond my expectations. Staying here is definitely worth the extra 7 minutes it takes to drive into town. The room was well maintained with floor to ceiling windows for natural lighting and a big bath tub in the receiving area and a spacious, cozy bedroom. This is most definitely where you want to rest after a long day of adventuring in La Paz.
Amazing on each detail, the hotel is beautiful, the service is unbelievable, almost a personalized care. It's only 10 rooms, each one has it on name, and the staff knows exactly who you are and which room you are staying. We received treats at the room, at the bar and at the restaurant. By the way the chef is amazing. We had a great time, even though was only one night, but so many good memories .
Stunning and absolutely perfection in every possible way. The staff is beyond amazing and the grounds are impeccably restored. The bar makes some of the most impressive drinks by skilled mixologists and the food is delicious. The rooms have been designed in manner and with a level of detail beyond expectations. From the linens to the light switches, everything is exceptional. Truly 5 star.
Planning your trip to Todos Santos
When to go
November to April is the settled season: dry days in the mid-20s Celsius, nights cool enough for a jumper, and grey and humpback whales passing offshore from December into April. It is also when day-trippers drive up from Los Cabos. Christmas, New Year and Holy Week are the peaks — highest rates, minimum stays, and a town that briefly feels crowded.
May through early July is the honest middle. The heat builds, the Pacific stays cold whatever the air says, visitors thin out and rates soften. Come then if the desert, the light and the surf interest you more than whales. Wear a hat: the midday sun here is fierce even when the air feels dry and pleasant.
August to October is hot, humid and inside the hurricane season, with September the most exposed month. It is the cheapest stretch of the year, but plenty of hotels and restaurants simply close for weeks, and dirt roads turn to soup after a storm. If you travel then, get written confirmation that your hotel is open.
Getting there and around
Los Cabos airport (SJD) sits about 100 km away on Highway 19, roughly an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half depending on traffic through Cabo San Lucas. La Paz (LAP) is a similar run, around 75 minutes on the same road. Either works — choose on flight schedules and fares rather than on distance.
Intercity coaches on the La Paz–Cabo San Lucas route stop in Todos Santos several times a day; the fare is a few hundred pesos and the ride is comfortable. The catch comes after you step off. Taxis are few, roughly MX$100–200 for a hop within town and considerably more out to the further beaches.
A rental car is the realistic answer if you want Punta Lobos, Las Palmas or the farm valley. Read the fine print: third-party liability insurance is compulsory in Baja and is almost never in the online rate, so the final bill often doubles. Ride-hailing apps do not work dependably this far up the coast.
Where to stay, zone by zone
The historic centre is the safe bet: ten blocks around the plaza, the mission and the Teatro Márquez de León, with small hotels in adobe and brick townhouses and the galleries of Topete and Legaspi round the corner. You can sleep car-free and walk to dinner. The trade-offs are roosters at dawn, pickup trucks, and no beach at the door.
North-west, towards La Cachora, La Poza and Las Tunas, the streets turn to sand and the houses spread out under a very big sky. It is quiet, the beach is a short walk and the sunsets are the point. You will need a car for everything, including supper, and patience with washboard tracks. Rentals outnumber hotels here.
Twelve kilometres south, El Pescadero and Playa Los Cerritos are the surf end of the district: looser, younger lodgings, board schools, and the one stretch of water most people actually swim in. Punta Lobos, just south of town, is a working panga beach rather than a hotel zone — go in the afternoon to watch the catch come ashore.

With a sample that small, read those as an order of magnitude rather than a town average — much of the local supply is private houses and villas that never enter the count.
Eating and going out
For its size, Todos Santos eats far above its weight. The valley has fresh water and small farms — mangoes, basil, chillies — and several kitchens build their menus around that produce and around fish landed by pangas at Punta Lobos. Nearly all of them sit in the centre, within a few blocks of one another.
Rounded, hedged figures: MX$60–130 for tacos or a set lunch, and easily MX$300–500 for a main in the places with tablecloths and a wine list. Cocktails on the centre's rooftops cost roughly what they do in Cabo. Carry cash — cash machines are few and occasionally empty, and some small kitchens take nothing else.
Nightlife is deliberately limited: dinner, a drink, live music some evenings, then bed. For clubs you go to Cabo San Lucas, an hour down the road. Many places close one day midweek and a fair number shut entirely in September, so check before crossing town on a hot evening.
Booking well
Supply is tiny, so the good season sells out early. For December to April — and absolutely for Christmas, New Year and Holy Week — book two or three months ahead. Expect minimum stays of three to five nights over the holidays, and deposits that are not coming back if you change your plans.
Before you pay, check three things: how far the hotel is from the centre and the beach, and over what kind of road; whether it has air conditioning and a pool, which between May and October are not decoration; and whether an airport transfer is included, since a private car from SJD costs about what a cheap night does.
Always price the alternatives — El Pescadero, La Paz, Cabo San Lucas — before you commit; one night's difference can cover the rental car.
